My story
It started with an apprenticeship.
I was born and raised in Sible Hedingham, Essex. At 17, I found an apprenticeship at a new local web agency. I already had an interest in development, so I was really pleased to get the opportunity to do it as a job.
That led to roles at several agencies across Essex and Suffolk. I learned a lot about building websites, but also about everything around the work - keeping people informed, organising a project and delivering when you said you would.
In 2018, I started my own company. Since then, I’ve worked directly with businesses and continued to support agencies across the UK on a white-label basis, doing development work under their name.
It’s still just me. When you get in touch, I’m the person you’ll speak to and the person doing the work.
What you can expect from me.
Someone you can rely on
I take commitments seriously. Having worked in agencies, I know how much other work can depend on a developer meeting a deadline. I set realistic dates and keep you informed as the project progresses.
Clear communication
You shouldn’t have to chase me to find out where things stand. I’ll explain what I’m working on, what I need from you and anything we need to decide along the way.
Time spent on the right things
Experience has made me efficient. I’m quicker at spotting potential problems and working out a sensible approach, which helps projects move along and keeps costs down.
An interest in solving the problem
This is the part I enjoy most. I like understanding what you need, thinking through the options and finding a solution that makes sense for your project.
Most of my motivation is at home.
Family life
I live with my wife, our two young boys and our labradoodle. Family is a big part of why I work for myself. I want to do work I’m proud of and build a good life for us, while being there as the boys grow up.
Running and cycling
Outside work and family time, I’m usually running or cycling. I run marathons and ultras, and compete in amateur road cycling races. I’ve run a marathon in under three hours and a 5km in 17:45.
I enjoy having something to work towards.
Tell me what you’re working on.
Whether you need help with your own website or another developer to support your agency, I’d be happy to hear from you.
